ORIXO is a spatial design studio founded by David Austin, built on the belief that how we shape our environments shapes how we live. Every space tells a story — the work is about ensuring it is a considered and lasting one.

With over 25 years' experience across the property and construction landscape, David has worked at every scale, from private residential homes to large-scale commercial projects, alongside the self-development of property. This breadth of experience informs a grounded, holistic approach to design — one that balances intuition with buildability, creativity with commercial awareness, and long-term thinking with a sensitivity to how spaces are genuinely lived in.

For much of its life, ORIXO has operated quietly. The practice has grown almost entirely through word of mouth, shaped by enduring client relationships, repeat commissions, and personal recommendation rather than promotion. This discretion has always been intentional, allowing the focus to remain on clarity, craft, and the quality of the work itself.

Today, ORIXO becomes more outward-facing. The ethos remains unchanged — considered, personal, and deliberate — but this platform creates a clearer way for clients who value thoughtful design to connect with the studio.

As a sole practitioner, David works closely and directly with every client. There are no layers or intermediaries. This allows for clear communication, informed decisions, and a design process that reflects individual lives, needs, and values with precision and care.
